I remember feeling utterly overwhelmed when I finished university. I had spent 3 years busting a gut to get my 2:1 and then had to answer the question, "what next?" It seems that this is still a dilemma faced by graduates (many) years later, with over a third not knowing how to write a CV and over half feeling unprepared for interviews. This is why in my role, we spend a lot of time looking at values and understanding what motivates our candidates so that we can place them in roles where they will stay and develop for the long term.
And when reaching interview stage, over half of graduates felt ill-prepared for their interviews, stating that their interviews did not match the format being taught to them by careers advisors.
