Netflix has some serious competition coming. BBC & ITV creators of some of the worlds best dramas are launching their Britbox service in the UK. Allegedly priced at £5 a month the UK public will be able to subscribe to a channel that they have already part funded. Not before time as many commentators have remarked that the BBC could be practically self funding it allowing greater access to its enormous library of BBC programmes. Great news for creative talent in the UK.
The BBC, home to crime dramas Luther and Line of Duty, and ITV, maker of dramas such as The Crown and Vanity Fair, are in the "concluding phase of talks" to create a rival to Netflix.
