It's not that surprising that many employers avoid setting up businesses in France preferring the UK and our more reasonable laws and regulations. In this sad tale a french worker was on a business trip and outside working hours had a sexual liaison that sparked cardiac arrest and his unfortunate demise.

The French tribunal has decided that because the worker was on a business trip the employer was liable. They defined it as a workplace accident. Employers in France will now have to introduce policies regarding the behaviour of their employees in any scenario where they could be deemed to be in the workplace.

It's no surprise that the UK is seen as a great place to establish a business for our reasonable attitudes to employers and workers alike that has enabled record numbers of people in employment and therefore low unemployment figures.
