John Lewis is being urged to hire a budget filmmaker for next year’s festive advert after his most recent masterclass.

UK filmmaker Phil Beastall recently created a short film for Christmas which he then posted to Tewkesbury noticeboard. The video has since gone viral and generated 5 Million views and over 120,000 shares.

If you haven’t seen it, it's a must watch. It captivates you with its powerful and emotional narrative.

To me, it’s a lesson to any business, any size, anywhere, any who, that creating content and competing with larger corporations is no easy task but as proven in Phil's short video it's not impossible. 

You don't need a multi-million-pound budget, a team of 100 and a list of celebrities to generate compelling content, you just need an idea, a goal and the determination to see it through.
