Bias and abuse are all around us and social media merely enables people to use platforms for agendas that the tech wasn't intended for. There is clear insight into what a change of name can have. Or a change of photo. I have changed the photo for this post from a middle aged corporate executive from the original article. The change can reveal the bias, unconscious or otherwise of others. Whether Abdul becomes Andrew to improve his chances of a job interview or in this case Andrea becomes Andrew to avoid uninvited attention, it's a fact that if you put yourself out there, people can find you and decide how they want to utilise the platform offered. In this case LinkedIn and the results are interesting to say the least. Time to spend a week as Paula maybe?
