Delighted to see Anna Moulton promoting the need for the digital, media and advertising sectors to take a broader view when looking for talent in the industry. I have always been interested to understand what is so special about the skills in the industry that no one else is capable of learning the right skills. Obviously there is a short term advantage for people to hit the ground running, but by the time it takes people to hire the perfect fit, someone else with different skills could have joined and learned.
Unlocking the conscious and unconscious bias will be an on-going challenge. The digital, media and marketing communications industry is easily one of the most exciting and innovative sectors to work in, so it's time to widen the search.
