I expect that the festival organisers at Cannes are not enjoying this summers event as much as usual. Publicis have withdrawn from next years Cannes to focus on their new product Marcel and Sir Martin of WPP is clearly assessing whether they will participate. Without Publicis and WPP will there be a purpose for Cannes? How will talented creatives receive the recognition that comes with Cannes? Or are there plenty of awards already?
"the jury is out" when it comes to whether or not WPP will stick by Cannes Lions following the decision of rival Publicis Groupe to cease spend next year.
