We all damage our organisations by not dealing with our bias, whether conscious or unconscious. Fat, thin, tall, short, average, handshake, clothes, shoes, eyes, hair, no hair, colour of hair, skin, voice and so the list goes on. It's human to be drawn towards or away from someone as your bias kicks in but it sadly prevents us from hiring the best people for the job. We convince ourselves that they were not the right 'fit' which is rarely what we actually mean. It's a challenge to diversify and have truly representative workforce. Those that do will have a huge recruitment advantage as they are open to much large pools of talent
