In a many ways London is also a country in it's own right. The GDP is similar to that of of Sweden. London is the centre for financial services, digital, media, creative and advertising industries. It is a top tourist destination and as good as example of anywhere that multiculturalism can work when you have a tolerant society. Not everything is perfect such as lack of affordable housing, overcrowded transport, disenfranchised teenage gangs and the gap between rich and poor. But it is pretty fantastic for job creation, entrepreneurial enterprise, security and fun. Some doomsayers considered the vote to Brexit as a two fingered signal to Europe when in fact it was a 'hello world' let's trade together. So delighted to see a year on year increase in the number of companies setting up in London since the vote. Clearly #LondonIsOpen
Barclays said they had helped nearly 2,500 new businesses set up in London in the month after Brexit, with borrowing by new businesses higher than the same time last year.
