Great news for jobs and careers in digital, media and marketing communications as the respected Advertising Association/Warc expenditure report shows continued growth in 2016 and 2017. The rate of growth is predicted to be slightly lower due to downgrades in newsbrands. Digital and mobile on the other hand are forecast for faster than predicted growth. With a seperate report showing there are two jobs for every candidate in the UK this bodes well for those seeking to progress their careers and take on new jobs in the digital, media and marketing communications sector
But while economic uncertainty surrounding the UK's vote to leave the EU is a factor, internet adspend forecasts have been revised up 0.8pp to 12.3% growth in 2016 and a total spend of £9.6bn, while mobile advertising gains a further 2.5pp, for a 39.3% increase to £3.7bn in the same period.
