I have a love-hate relationship with the retail side of the telecommunications industry. Having worked there during my days at Uni and earning more commission in a week during the iPhone 3G launch than I was making from an hourly wage in a quarter, it was a pretty sweet place to be as a student.
I went through 3 generations of the iPhone before taking the plunge and switching to Android 2 years ago and boy, did it create an uproar among my friends! Eventually, I got fed up with the lack of technical upgrades with each version - the camera on the iPhone5 was merely an 8mp lens, with Apple's competitors launching the same camera spec handset as early as 2008.
What should we look forward to with this upgrade?
While we were expecting big design changes for the iPhone 7, we've got bad news for Apple fans: it might be very similar outside of a few tweaks here and there. We could get a new color option though, with rumors suggesting Apple will add a 'Space Black' shade to the mix, likely similar to the black Apple Watch option. That's not been seen on an iPhone since 2012's iPhone 5.
